1st Annual Slug Halloween Bash
Join us on Saturday, October 30 at James Roberts' house for the 1st Annual Slug Halloween Bash. Festivities start at 5:00 P.M. This is a Slugling friendly event, so bring the little yard apes with you if you so choose. Come dressed in your best costume and bring your own beverages and lawn chairs. James lives on Hwy. H, near Davis. More details as they become available.

River Bash Part II
Everyone, we will be holding another get together on Saturday, September 18th. This will be in the same field as river bash was in, and will start at about 5 in the afternoon.
We will be having BBQ to eat, sometime around 6pm. We will also have games to play like horseshoes, and washers until it gets dark. Then the debachary will begin. Hope to see you all out here again.

River City Rascals Game
Greeting Slugs and Snails!
This Sunday, August 22, 2004, the Slugs, Snails and Sluglings will be massing to attend the River City Rascals game at T.R. Hughes Ballpark. The game starts at 6:05 PM.
This will be the second outing to watch the Rascals as it was fun enough the first time to require a return visit! The games are affordable, $5-$7, and food and concessions are just as reasonable and it is a great place, no bad seats, to watch baseball. Today the Slugcity Forum turns 1 year old. The forum was created on June 25th and our first user was created. Shortly after this, the e-mails were sent and we had 5 to 10 users on the forum.

Texas Hold'em Tourney
I'm having a Texas Hold'em tournament at my house on April 24th starting at 6pm. Below is the info...please forward this to your immediate friends if they would like to play.
Game : Texas Hold'em
Entry Fee : $30.00
Date : April 24th 2004 (Saturday night)
Time : 6pm game starts - arrive at 5:30 to draw table numbers.
Tables : max 7 people per table until the tables needs to merge.

Prize money : (based on 30 people playing - winnings on % of total pot, so prize money can change.)
1st place - $300.00
2nd place - $150.00
3rd place - $100.00

I will need to limit it to 30 people, so if your in, please send me a confirmation e-mail. This tourney will fill up fast, so to confirm a seat, please e-mail me.
There will be FREE draft beer (Michelob Light) and will have very limited amount of liquor drinks for cheap prices, so bring your ones. We will also try and have a dealer for each table, so no one will have to deal during the game.
Blinds & bets will increase every 45 mins in these increments.

River Bash '03 Weather
It's clear sailing for River Bash '03 this year in the way of weather. It's going to be 90 during the day and 70 degrees this coming Saturday, July 26th.
The humidity will be around 60%, so drink lots of beer to help you pass out faster from the heat.
If you don't know how to get to River Bash, go to your favorite map website (www.mapquest.com) and plug in Stepanek Crossing. Can you believe "The River" made it on Mapquest as a point of interest?
We never decided on a time, but I would say since we are eating out there, anytime after 5 or 6pm would probably be safe, or is that too early? That gives us a full 2 hours of light to cook, clean up and start drinking.

RIVER BASH '03

An evening of friends, beer, boones, nifty thrickles, (possibly food), and fire, at the only location that could hold such an event...THE RIVER (if you don't know where the river is, then you probably shouldn't come anyway).
We are attempting to do something absurd, and start BEFORE it gets dark, and make a lengthy evening out of it, or at least until the frogs stop singing.
Mark your calendars, with this much advanced notice, there is no reason you cannot attend (and we promise, this time the display will not say "FREEZE").

We will be giving a free gift to the slug who posts the 250th comment on slugcity.com. We won't be telling the count right now, or what the prize is, but the comments are piling up and the prize is something nice. The rules for the contest are as follows :
1) You can't post little comments to a story over and over to run up the count. The admins at slugcity have the right to delete these comments due to flooding the comments. We will be monitoring the count and comments being posted.
2) The admins can't win.
3) If a non-slug posts the 250th comment, the next slug who posts a comment will be awarded the prize.

A Free Meal and Beer

This is an open invite to the renewal of our vows on April 12th. I wanted to send out a lot more invites through the mail, but could not find many addys, so I thought this might cover some of them. The ceremony will be at Asbury United Methodist church on the corner of W and Y in beautiful downtown Foley at 4 pm, and the reception will be held at the Troy VFW post on Hwy J.
