Slugcity.com 500th comment

It's official.....Slugcity.com had it's 500th comment posted.

Unfortunately, it was not a slug, snail, Krue, or Rolla person who posted it. However, it's so damn funny, I felt mentioning it was necessary.

So what was the comment? Well, to those that don't realize, slugcity gets "hits" by several search engines from people searching for various information. Try a search on google for "Metallica Icon", or just go here (I've done the typing for you). Yes, that's right, if you search the internet for "Metallica Icon", our entries on Slugcity.com are more relavant (to a search engine anyway) than even MTV.com.

Anyway.....so it seems there are many people out there who are interested in a small post that I made entitled "Lesbians Against Bush" and it's still getting comments from a few carpet munchers out there.

So to whomever posted:

"im a 16 year old lesbian and im deeply in love if you dont like me blow me..." - Posted by: ama on August 28, 2003 10:56 AM

You are the 500th person to post a comment. Now go and buy yourself a new pair of Birkenstocks.....you box licker.

**note**
Speshul "K", you almost had it when you posted a comment at 11:48 AM on the same day.

Chateau Traileur Parc

BENTONVILLE, ARK (AP) -- Some Wal-Mart customers soon will be able
to sample a new discount item -- Wal-Mart's own brand of wine. The
world's largest retail chain is teaming up with E&J Gallo Winery of
Modesto, Calif., to produce the spirits at an affordable price, in the $2-5
range. While wine connoisseurs may not be inclined to throw a bottle of
Wal-Mart brand wine into their shopping carts, there is a market for cheap
wine, said Kathy Micken, professor of marketing at Roger Williams
University in Bristol, R.I. She said: "The right name is important."

So, here we go...

The top 12 suggested names for Wal-Mart Wine:

12. Chateau Traileur Parc
11. White Trashfindel
10. Big Red Gulp
9. Grape Expectations
8. Domaine Wal-Mart "Merde du Pays"
7. NASCARbernet
6. Chef Boyardeaux
5. Peanut Noir
4. Chateau des Moines
3. I Can't Believe It's Not Vinegar!
2. World Championship Riesling
And the number 1 name for Wal-Mart Wine is...
1. Nasti Spumante

And who says they don't know wine in Arkansas?

Win32 Blaster Worm

Another vulnerability to the Windows Operating system. This one uses an exploit to the RPC endpoint mapper and it affects Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000, and Windows XP.

Reportedly, you know you have it when "......a 60 second shutdown timer pops up on your screen" but by then it may be too late.

Fortunately, the Evil Empire (Micro$oft) has released a patch for it, that can be downloaded here The patch only works on Windows 2000 and Windows XP. This patch was first released in March of 2003, however, the Blaster Worm is making it's way around the internet because many people have not been applying their patches.

[rant]okay, we all hate to sit around and download large files, unless they are pictures of Slug events, however, most of these patches plug holes to the Windows OS.....really can't stress enough to keep your patches updated on your PC. And I can't stress the importance of updating your Anti-Virus application on a regular basis (at least twice a week). And for you broadband users out there, I HIGHLY recommend a firewall (either hardware or software). If you have questions, or want recommendations, post something in the Tech Forum and several of us will provide many recommendations.[/rant]

If you are already effected with the Blaster Worm (also known as the Lovsan worm), a removal tool can be found here. This site from Symantec also provides more information on this worm.
