Novarg.A worm virus

The W32.Novarg.A worm is spreading rapidly throughout the internet. Reports indicate that this is a much, much worse virus than the W32.Sobig.F virus that hit a few months ago. It has been estimated that the Novarg worm is attached to one out of nine emails sent.

Symantec has the following information on this worm:

W32.Novarg.A@mm

It is highly advisable to update your virus definitions immediatly if you have nt done it in the past day or so. Also set your PC to run a virus scan nightly for the next several days (the virus spread is supposed to peak today). And as always, don't open attachments from someone you don't know. In fact, do not even open the email to read it (if it contains an attachment). If you have any questions regarding this virus.....post a topic in the tech forum, and one of us will do our best to help you out.

If you think that "this won't happen to me" you are mistaken. I have been hit with this virus 7 times in the past 24 hours on my home PC. That means, I have had 7 emails containing this virus.

I had it hit me yesterday. Opened the e-mail, but not the attachment and everything was fine. Deleted it right away of course.

...which brings up another point. Don't forget to empty your "Deleted Items" folder after deleting a virus.

I think that I shall never see
A thing as lovely as a tree.
But as you see the trees have gone
They went this morning with the dawn.
A logging firm from out of town
Came and chopped the trees all down.
But I will trick those dirty skunks
And write a brand new poem called 'Trunks'.
