It's official, Hellraiser has the letter from the State Park, and we are now owners of Camp Sherwood Forest in the State Park, at least for the weekend of Memorial Day 2003.
So mark your calendars, and plan on going to camp for 3 days this summer (Memorial Day weekend). There are plenty of cabins, and other amenities, but bring your own TP.
Keep checking back, we'll post more details as we make them up.
**update on 18 DEC 2002**
We have Camp Sherwood Forest from 2pm Friday, 23 May thru 2pm Sunday, 26 May 2003.
Not sure what the times of the festivities will be, but typically we have a "pre-party", "the party", then a "post party". In some years we have even had a "pre-pre-party". Although, some of us are getting up in our years, and have disfunctional livers as it is...some may not be able to hang for 4 straight days. Although we sure did on Turkey Day.
If anyone has any ideas of fun crap we can do, or any weird ideas to add to the chaos, please post a comment, or send an email to me (jailbird) or (natas) and we will gladly ignore them...uh, I meant post them.
Also looking for everyone's opinions on cooking, and meals.....I think it would be a big pain and hassle to do a bunch of grocery shopping before hand and have "planned" meals the entire time. However, I'd be game to chip in and have a feast the afternoon of the actual party (we do this anyway), and perhaps an organized breakfast the morning after (beer and eggs of course). Keep in mind that we have a full dining hall that probably could seat 100 of your closest friends. And we also have the kitchen to go along with it. Any volunteers for KP?

Posted by: natas on November 26, 2002 07:10 PMThis was the best news I've heard in a long, long time. I was thinking since we had not heard anything in so long, that we didn't get it.
I would assume since we have an "official" group camp that the turnout will be the best yet. We'll have to do a "site survey" and see how many this camp will hold. I'd assume that most everyone coming will be camping at least 1 night. Then again, who needs sleep.
Posted by: jailbird on November 26, 2002 08:00 PMCount me in. I think at least one keg for every two should do. I agree, who needs sleep, i plan on taking a week off after the weekend. See everybody then.
Posted by: joe on November 29, 2002 07:27 PMright on - sounds like a hell of a deal to me

We have 100 close friends?
Posted by: Jo Mama on December 19, 2002 01:45 AMIf you include imaginary friends, then yes. Also factor in multiple personalities.

Is anyone in the group a chef, put them on cook duty.
Posted by: Joe on December 20, 2002 10:56 PMI already told Jailbird that I will cook but we need to know some requests as far as food goes. I like to cook but whether or not I am any good at it will be up to you guys to determine, but hey at least we will have food. :)
Posted by: flippo on December 26, 2002 06:30 PMI could make a Very good BBQ Mexican style, on Friday or saturday what do you say?
Posted by: Julio on January 27, 2003 10:35 AMWhat is Mexican BBQ? I did not see that on the menu at Taco Bell.
Posted by: jailbird on January 27, 2003 02:42 PMThat is because you have never had a real one, remember Taco bell is not Mexican, is just Fast american food with a disguise.
Posted by: Julio on January 28, 2003 12:00 PMhahaha, you mean the Taco Bell "Fire" sauce is not authentic Mexican hot sauce?
Posted by: jailbird on January 28, 2003 02:23 PMWell thats part of it, but all of it, is not authentic, You'll know what I mean, lets wait until may.
