Dave or Sammy

OK, since my last post of concerts got some heat because I said David Lee Roth was a good concert (have you seen him in concert?), I decided to make a "forum" out of it. Everybody loves a good fight. Sammy vs. Dave, Robert Plant vs. Jimmy Page, Britney vs. Christina.....

I placed a new topic in the Slugcity Forum...so let the discussion begin...

Red Rocker Sammy or Diamond Dave

I've turned off comments for this post, so direct all your posts to the Slugcity Forum.

Metal Up Your Ass

cover_pa_jpg_sm_thumbnail.jpg
St. Anger

To those of you that have not checked out the new Metallica album, St. Anger, I strongly advise doing so.

This is (arguably) the heaviest album since ....And Justice For All. No more of that pussy pop shit written to make the Billboard Top 40, just plain 'ol kick ass heavy metal. The shit we've been yearning to hear again.

This isn't quite the classic speed metal that Puppets had to offer, but then again, not much really compares to that album, however, this album makes me want to start a mosh pit in my living room and thrash like I was 18 again. The guy in this picture is suddenly cool again.

By the way, I picked up my copy from Tower Records for $11.99 the night it went on sale. Not only does it have over 75 minutes of music, the CD is also enhanced, so shove it into your PC to see what it does (I have not been able to pry mine out of my CD player long enough to see for myself). It also contains a full length DVD with a studio video of the band playing the full length of the album in the studio. Definitely a great value.

Metallica Icon on MTV

Metallica Icon will be on MTV Tuesday, May 6th at 8pm. It should be a good show. I did some research and here is the line up and what they are playing.

Avril Lavigne covers Fuel
Jim Breuer does some comedy about Metallica
Korn covers One
Limp Bizkit covers Sanitarium
Sum 41 covers ????
Metallica covers Metallica

If your in front of your computer, head over to the slugcity chat room during the show to get your rocks off about Metallica.

Also on MTV2, Saturday, May 10th at 10pm the return of Headbangers Ball will reappear. Metallica will be hosting the first show. I'm sure they will be playing some of their older live videos on the show.

Remember these concerts?

And to think we used to bitch about paying $24 for concert tickets.

**note**
If you click on the image above, it will open up a larger image of the "tickets". I kept it rather large so it's easier to read. Be patient, it may take some time to open the image.

Best song of all time

Yahoo just reported a story of the best songs of all time. It looks like this list is only British and area rockers.

Queen took the top spot with 'Bohemian Rhapsody'.

Where are all the Zepellin tunes? And have I ever heard George Harrison's "My Sweet Lord" who came in at #5?
